The backbone of our success is a state-of-the-art machining shop maintained within our 100,000 sq. ft. facility. Tennessee Rand Inc. was incorporated in 1980 as a custom machine shop serving local industry. As we have grown and expanded our services, we have not forgotten our roots. We continue to invest in and expand our machining capabilities. We are proud to possess one of the largest, state-of-the-art machine shops in the Southeast including over 30 Mazak CNC machining centers, 3 Mazak turning centers and 2 wire EDM machines. In the early 1980s, we began working with companies such as the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), The City of Chattanooga and more.
    We are certified as an ISO 9001 company and we are qualified to perform work for the nuclear Industry as we are in full compliance with NQA-1 1989. Our manufacturing facility can download machining information directly from cad models, reverse engineer parts, program off-line or direct through Mazatrol software, provide fourth axis machining, make CNC modifications to customer supplied products, and much more. Also, our material stock level is high to better service our customers and reduce down time caused by material lead time.
We also have a full service weld shop to provide support to our manufacturing department and to produce various fabrications needed for our work. The welding of tooling frames, trunnions, and more in aluminum and steel is all done in-house.
