ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
DESCRIPTION:
Tennessee Rand is an OEM systems integrator specializing in tooling We are currently looking for an electrical engineer with experience designing control solutions for integrating welding robot systems, dedicated welding machines, machine tools and material handling equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review customer specifications, project scope of work, and interpret mechanical requirements
- Design control systems for robotic welding cells, machine tools and material handling equipment utilizing AutoCad Electrical
- Create electrical controls schematics including wiring diagrams, panel layouts, push-button station layouts, safety circuits, pneumatic layouts and other hardware related documents
- Create bill of materials, lockout / tagout procedures, spare parts lists, and preventative maintenance manuals
- Collaborate with application engineers and mechanical design engineers during project design
- Provide support during assembly and commissioning of equipment
- Ensure complete and accurate drawings and documentation upon completion of project
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience with machine control design
- 3+ years of experience with robotic welding (arc, laser, resistance) and material handling applications
- Strong familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC’s (ControlLogix, SLC, and MicroLogix), various communication protocols (Ethernet, DeviceNet, RIO, etc.) and HMI systems (PC based systems and PanelViews)
- Experience in control systems, servo drives, VFD’s, stepper motor drives, electrical/electronic systems, pneumatic components, analog components, and vision systems
- Knowledge of machine safety requirements up to Category 4
- Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 79
- Competency with AutoCAD Electrical 2010 and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook)
- Demonstrated skills with communication, team facilitation and client relations
- Self motivated, able to act independently, and set and manage priorities
- Adaptability in handling changes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Ability to travel up to 10%
